Job Description 
Conduct and Provide Therapy Sessions and Evaluations: 
  • Deliver speech therapy services to a diverse range of populations, ensuring clinical competencies are met.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patient conditions and needs.
  • Document findings and develop individualized care plans. 
  • Assess clients' speech, language, and communication needs. 

Program Development and Leadership: 
  • Take initiative in developing and establishing the speech therapy program within a physical therapy setting.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, independent decision-making, and leadership skills, with the potential to guide future program growth. 
 
Treatment Planning and Implementation: 
  • Design and execute tailored treatment plans based on diagnostic assessments.
  • Utilize various therapeutic techniques and equipment treatment plans based on the assessment findings, aimed at improving speech, language, cognitive-communication skills, and swallowing abilities. 
  • Provide therapy to help patients improve their ability to express themselves, understand language, and use appropriate communication strategies. 
  • Use techniques such as articulation exercises, language drills, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods, and swallowing therapy. 
  • Focus on patient outcomes and retention, ensuring that patients and caregivers are actively involved and educated throughout the therapy process. 
  • Ensure that patients are supported through their therapy journey, ultimately progressing towards graduation (completion of therapy). 
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly. 
  • Provide early intervention to children who have language delays or at risk of speech and language disorders. 
  • Special Focus: Provide therapy for patients with neurological conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, stroke, multiple sclerosis (MS), and other neuro-related disorders for adults and PEDIATRIC Patients. 

Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals (e.g., doctors, occupational therapists, physical therapists, psychologists, and special education teachers) for integrated patient care.
  • Participate in team meetings and case discussions.
 
Commitment to Professional Growth: 
  • Participate in ongoing learning and development activities/events to expand clinical knowledge.
 
Timely and Accurate Documentation: 
  • Complete all clinical and non-clinical responsibilities in a timely and professional manner, including documentation, patient communication, and screenings. 
  • Ensure compliance with credentialing, licensing, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Maintain effective internal communication with the clinical team to ensure quality of care.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
  • Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Work Experience: 1-year of relevant work experience required. 

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Speech-Language Pathologist License: Valid in California. 
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI). 
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). 
  • Basic Life Support Certification.

  • Speech Disorders (e.g., stuttering, articulation difficulties).
  • Language Disorders (e.g., aphasia, delayed language development). 
  • Cognitive-Communication Disorders (e.g., memory problems, attention difficulties, executive function problems). 
  • Voice Disorders (e.g., vocal cord dysfunction, hoarseness).
  • Swallowing Disorders (e.g., dysphagia, aspiration).
  • Accent Modification Therapy (in some cases, helping individuals with non-native accents enhance speech clarity). 
  • Neurological Conditions: Specialized treatment for patients with Parkinson’s disease, stroke, MS, and other neuro-related conditions.
